As a person who wears glasses all the time, I want to give my eyes and eye area some extra love. Thus I am so desperate to get my hands on this product due to its claims and its popularity in social media but I was afraid that it is only full of hype after reading the reviews. This Bird's Nest Aqua Eye Patch by SNP has a vivid color on the packaging and it is overwhelming! Yes, I am biased with colorful and cute packaging! Let's have a look at the product...
As the website says, "Bird's Nest Aqua Eye Patch firms the skin around the eyes and provides moisture and nourishment to skin. 11,700 ppm Swiftlet nest extract and hyaluronic acid prevent dryness caused by lack of moisture and protect skin from harmful environment factors by forming a skin protective barrier."
Claims of Bird's Nest Aqua Eye Patch:
- Recharge hydration! Contains Bird's Nest & Hyaluronic Acid
- Add intense nutrients and moisture to dry skin around eyes
- Immediate Cooling & Soothing effect
- Prevent dehydration by providing thin protective film
- Erase wrinkle lines around the corners of your eyes, mouth and cheeks
Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Calcium Chloride, Butylene Glycol, Ceratonia Siliqua (Carob) Gum, Xanthan Gum, Swiftlet Nest Extract(1,000 mg), Chondrus Crispus Powder, Betaine, Allantoin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ethyl Hexanediol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Bambusa Textilis Stem Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Citrus Junos Fruit Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Mica, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Tin Oxide, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Calcium Titanium Borosilicate, Sapphire Powder, Ethylhexylglycerin, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance
The highlighted ingredients are the only ingredients that I am familiar with and what I think is the highlight of this specific product. But I am not saying other ingredients are not important.
What intrigued me on this product is the Swiftlet Nest Extract which I really don't have an idea before. You can check the details posted on SNP's Website to know more but from what I learned (and surprised me) is that a swiftlet nest extract stimulates skin turn over!
Reasons why I love this product:
- Instant cooling, hydrating and relaxing effect. My eye area just love it!
- Easy to apply and not time-consuming compared to putting creams
- Extra essence inside the tub. I mean who doesn't love extra essence?
- Spatula which you can use to scoop out the patches easily. However, I use my fingers instead of the spatula so I can still massage the essence in other areas
Reasons I don't like from this product:
- Availability of the product. Online websites based in Dubai sell it for not less than AED 80 which I think is expensive since this is only PHP 500-600 in the Philippines.
- Fragrance in the ingredients. I don't know much about how fragrance is good/bad in a skincare product but in my opinion, it's bad. Even if the eye patch doesn't have any smell at all, I still feel sad knowing there's fragrance as an ingredient.
Fortunately (and as a conclusion), it’s a match for me and now this eye patch is now a staple product in my AM/PM routine! I love it and I will continue to use it until maybe a better product comes along. But so far, I am not looking for a replacement.
I also have a product review of another product from the same product line which is the Bird's Nest Water Sleeping Pack and hope you check it out as well!
Disclaimer:
This is my first ever eye patch so I really don't have any standards or expectations regarding eye patches and I am very easy to please when it comes to skincare products anyway. You can also check what are the other products I use/support from my SKINCARE SECTION!
The eye patch is inside the goodie bag given by the generous Jean Cho of @madforcos during SNP’s Influencer Night last month. However, all opinions are my own.
