Who will ever thought that I will be actively participating in an event such as the latest ABCommunity UAE Meet up? I definitely didn't saw that coming! You see, I'm the girl who hikes and all I do is hoard face sheet masks who probably have the most damaged skin. No shame on that, it's my battle scars I guess, lol!
Anyhow, I always try to catch up with my sheet mask routine as much as I can and luckily happened to meet Sky in Instagram. She sent me the invite to participate in the very first 'Meet Up of the #ABCommunityUAE'! Isn't that amazing?!
What is ABCOMMUNITYUAE?
AB what? What does it mean? Letters A and B stands for Asian Beauty and it is not limited to Asians only but for EVERYONE who loves Asian Beauty products! Korean brands, Japanese brands, Taiwanese brands and the likes. Hence the hashtag, #ABCommunityUAE.
ABCOMMUNITY UAE Organizers:
The event wouldn't have been possible without the help of these three people. They are three big names (well at least for me!) in Instagram that I always look up to within the skincare community.
- Sky, known as @theoneandonlymrsjaridi - The main person who worked so much in this event! From contacting the sponsors, picking up the gifts from the sponsors, promoting the event, gathering attendees and even arranging the food and the venue!
- Diane, known as @d_wandergirl - Unfortunately, I wasn't able to meet her personally because she needed to fly to Lebanon on the day of the event. Despite not being around on the day of the event, you can still feel her presence because of all the prizes and gifts that she prepared for everyone. She also made sure that everyone will get something! How sweet of her!
- B, known as @iwishyouclearskin - She's Sky's partner in crime and she helped Sky with almost everything! Her husband is even supporting her and taking pictures of us.

Venue:
The event was held at Next Level Restaurant in Centurion Tower near Deira City Center. The restaurant is not difficult to find at all (if you know Centurion Tower). We happily selected the outdoor venue with electric fans and thank God that the weather is bearable on this day!
Again, this is the first meet up of the ABCommunity UAE so far and this venue is not fixed. The organizers are scouting for another venue for the next meet up (I'm already excited!).

And not only from behind the screen on Instagram but to get to know them personally? For this particular reason, the organizers initiated this meet up to get to know more people who share the same passion as them.

t'was lovely meeting you all ! im a chef and most often times i dont bother taking care of my skin. like, "eh ano naman nsa kitchen naman ako" π until i get influenced by my kumare slash highschool classmate @chari.in.pixels to be into sheet masking as well. it started in mask-swap and voila! Diane @d_wandergirl sent me A LOT of beauty stuff and thats when I told myself, "hey, i maybe mataba but I cannot be Haggard forever" sooooo its a No No for me ang maging losyang even after having 6kiddos... So fastforward, after meeting you my beautiful sisters, I gain friends, sisters, self-love aaaaand mind you ha? you gals have that special power of boosting one's self confidence and Cheeeeers for that! to more chikas and longer friendshipπππ
Hello! I love your story and this line 'eh ano naman nsa kitchen naman ako' strucked me. Ako naman is, dahil mahilig ako sa hiking, ang point ko is, 'eh ano naman, wala naman makakakita sakin sa bundok' or 'wala naman si forever sa bundok'. But you know what, you're right, we can't afford to be haggard forever and we (and our skin) deserve so much love!
