MyΒ Accommodation Archives collection is now growing and I'm already on my third post! One of my favorite hostels, Abraham Hostel is located in the heart of the Holy Land of Jerusalem. Want to know what the hype is all about? Keep reading!
Location in Jerusalem
Located between the main street of Jerusalem called Jaffa Street and the edge of the neighborhood of the ultra-Orthodox called Mea Shea'rim, Abraham Jerusalem is close to everything you would need.
Close to bus stops (Stop name: HaDavidka Square/HaNevi'im) and light rail (Stop name: Davidka), Abraham Hostel is a big yet not-so-new building with a grocery and liquor store next door. But don't let the building façade fool you!
The bright citrusy interior will transport you into a youthful mood as if you're back in college days. You will also be surprised by what the property can offer inside. Let's go in!
Hostel Facility
While I only need a bed usually, I don't make a fuss about hostel facilities. I don't usually stay long either (like those who work on the go) so I usually miss the hostel facilities and their full potential. But Abraham Jerusalem is special. It's so interesting that we even did a full tour of the property and I'm truly impressed and in awe of how complete it is.
Not only the lobby is a proper lobby, but the kitchen and dining area are also the biggest I've seen so far. Coffee and tea-making equipment and utensils are abundant, with plenty of room to sit, and did I mention they serve free breakfast too?
There's also a bar, a rooftop deck for social events, lockers, a TV Room, and even announcement boards. They also have a *proper* laundry area with good-looking and fully functional washing machines. My exposure to hostels mustn't be that much to think that theirs is the best laundry area I've seen π
Since I was traveling with my friends, we booked 4 dorm beds (one room) and there are 2 single beds and 1 bunk bed which is just right for us. The room was spacious with enough cabinets too. And we have our own bathroom!
Hostel Cost
Again, I used Booking.com to book this hostel, and let me show you the costs. We happily booked the 4-mixed dorm beds and ended up having the room just for ourselves. We expected to pay NIS 798 for 4 beds in 2 nights upon our arrival (July 2022).
During check-in, we paid by card and it cost us 849 AED (after the conversion rate) for the 4 of us including breakfast. That makes us pay AED 212.25 per person including breakfast. That doesn't sound so bad to me!
Travel Resources & Services
Around the property are announcement boards scattered for you to see the upcoming events being organized by the hostel. Not only that, you get some options for travel services that the hostel can organize for guests. We were so eager to join the trip to Masada but there were no more slots left for us. There's also a trip to the Dead Sea however it didn't match our schedule in mind.
While we missed the fun, it's a great opportunity I wish to experience next time. I'd want to visit the outskirts of Jerusalem and it's so comforting to know that I don't need to look further where to arrange tours or travel services. The property has a dedicated team handling tours which you can check for your reference: ABRAHAM TOURS!
And that's all about Abraham Jerusalem Hostel! My friends and I had a good time in everything and it makes us want to try the other Abraham Hostels around Israel too!
